I'm working on a test update to Joomla 3.4 using Gavick Storebox. One of the Extensions we use in Joomla 2.5 (also with Storebox) is the module S5 Map It With Google. The problem here is that in the 3.4 version of the remote hosted test site, the module appeared once or twice when testing it, only to completely disappear in the bottom 1 module position. Since the last time it disappeared, nothing I've tried has brought it back. I've uninstalled the module and reinstalled it, tried different module positions, nothing has worked. I tried the module on a local host, and it has worked and continues to work and remain visible. When I contacted support through Shape 5, the developer of the extension, they said it had been tested thorough with Joomla 3, and said they saw conflicts on the test site, after I gave them the link; and suggested contacting the template developer, though they didn't specify what errors they saw.
The test site in question is [url]temp2.neartisangallery.com[/url]

It doesn't seem to be the module that's not working; there's some sort of error occurring in the template, which is why I'm asking the developers of the template...

Also, as mentioned in the first post, I did a localhost setup with the same quickstart installation, and installed the template, where it does work properly - so something is wrong with this remote host setup, and not the module's compatibility.

Might be also... but you cannot help in localhost also, we are not XAMPP support guys.
We can fix only those issues which are related with our products only.

It IS your product that seems to be the problem... As I said, the module works fine in the localhost setup of the Storebox quickstart package - meaning the extension is not the problem, but rather the live, remote hosted installation of your product product is likely where the fault lies - hence seeking support here. This is support by the people at Shape5 identifying a template error, though they didn't specify what that error was; and I'm not sure where to start looking.
The remote hosted test site is http:\\temp2.neartisangallery.com

And I'm not asking you to support Shape 5 products - their module is working fine. Clearly if it works in a local host setup of the Storebox template; the root cause of it not working in the remote hosted setup of Storebox lies in some fault with that setup itself. Since it was installed with a Storebox quick start package, I'm seeking support from the developers of that package...

Or you could help me identify the problem the occurred in your quickstart setup, so I know the site is actually working properly. Storebox was a paid template, why is it so difficult to get support for it?

As posted before; the remote hosted test site is here - temp2.neartisangallery.com (I've tried making the link clickable in this post, and others in this thread, but the url tag doesn't seem to be working like the others.)

There are a total of three modules assigned to the Bottom 1 position; two of them are different configurations of the mapping module (one to display the map, one to display a directions form) neither of these appear. The third module does show up; a custom HTML module, with company logo and business information.
I have noticed for all of the modules in the 3.4 version of the site; whenever I assign them to a GavickPro Storebox module position and save, when I review the position again, it's listed under Custom Module Positions, instead of the Storebox template module positions. I'm not sure if this means anything, since all of the modules seems to be like that, and so far this is the only one not showing up.

I cannot help it issue depends on your Joomla Admin, not front-end.
Right now I see only one module published on Bottom1
just add there 2 others... or send me access (PM) I will try to find out what is wrong.

templates are sorted by years (new on top, old at the bottom)

The two other modules ARE there - that's the problem, they're there, they're published, they're set to appear on all pages, and they're not showing up. How are we supposed to know it's an old template? We've only been using it for a year on Joomla 2.5 and we're upgrading to 3.4, which this available in.

Well, there are tools for inspecting the code and other bits from the front end - I've used them to track down other problems, and I would have assumed a template developer would have a full array of such methods at their disposal, in order to support their products. Google Chrome's Inspect Element function, and Firebug for FireFox come to mind. Both of those work from the frontend.
Meanwhile, you could provide some troubleshooting steps that I can perform from the backend and report if I find anything amiss; or if enabling or disabling a certain function or line of code, that's been known to cause similar trouble, has any affect.

The issue with this particular module has not been solved, but I have found an alternative method I'm satisfied with.
