I'm working on a test upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to 3.4. We've used the 2.5 version of the Storebox template package for about a year and it's worked well for us; so naturally using the 3.x version made sense for the upgrade. Following problems running integrated upgrade system (the upgraded frontend reported a mootools error that no one could offer resolution for), I used the Storebox 3.x quickstart to install a fresh Joomla 3 setup in a test section of the server, updated to Joomla 3.4 stable; and replaced through global settings the database info of the second test site, with the info from the first test site, which populated most of the content. I had to reinstall most of the components and plugins, substituting compatible versions for some extension when necessary, and most of the rest of the data filled in from the database, and I input the remainder when needed.

One of the extensions was a module that displays Virtuemart Categories on the Frontpage; which worked fine in 2.5 and appeared to install without issue in 3.4. However when I go into the module, the top of the page fails to load (including features like the save & close button) and in the tab an reports error 1146, identify the Virtuemart_categories table cannot be found. Installing the Storebox quickstart in a localhost test site, before even installing this component, the same error came up on the frontend of the local host site. This went away when I went into Language Manager and created an Override for Virtuemart Categories. However the problem still remained in the backend for that extension, for both the remote and local host test sites.
I found a few different threads with this error and other Gavick templates for Joomla 3. One of them had a response by an admin which the person said corrected the issue for them. The admin said:
please check which prefix has your virtuemart_categories table and please set this prefix in the module -> virtuemart additional settings -> language override
However, I don't know what they're revering to, to access "virtuemart additional settings". I have never seen this anywhere, and can't find any reference to it in an online search; and the thread wouldn't let me post a response to inquire about it, so I started a new one here.

I'm aware of the possibility that the component may simply not be compatible with the Joomla 3.x version of the Storebox template, even though it seemed to install properly, but if there is some chance there's a conflict that can be resolved, I'd prefer that over finding a similar component to replace it.

The test site is temp2.neartisangallery.com

That is a tutorial for installing other languages - I don't need to install other languages; English is the default language and the one used in the site....

Hi

Demo content is created for English (United Kingdom) language so if You will create a different language during installation VM will not create tables for it. Try go to VM configuration and in language options select English (United Kingdom) so it will make tables for it and error will be gone.

As I already said, it was installed in English, it's the only language used on the site... Our conclusion is that the module in question was simply not compatible with Joomla 3.x

Hi

If You think so than please update it to the joomla 3.x one. There are 2 versions of NSP in download section.

Send me an access to joomla panel if this will not change anything and I'll check the languages. If english is the only language than I think it may not be activated or it's not English(United Kingdom) exactly.
