2 groups of products in Storebox?

hello guys

I need an urgent advice. What do you recommend if I want to have 2 groups of products: machines and spare parts. I want them to be separated and machines are suppose to be only as a showcase (no buy).
I'm aware this forum is mainly for template issues, not VM but perhaps someone will have some idea for it.

Hi

I would advice to simply make 2 categories: Machines, Parts. Than all the work can be done to subcategorries. Or if Machines are not for sell than why not use K2 component for them?

Thx teitbite for advice. I'm not familiar with K2 but maybe that's the way to go. How about Manufacturers in K2? Can I include them there (tags?). Also there is one more detail I need to remember of - my customer doesn't want to have a product page, just the product list page where each product in addition to photo, gets name and 2 or 3 details (from custom product fields).

I've made some tests with K2 and one thing bothers me, items are displayed in very nice boxes, how you make categories displayed the same way?

Hi

If it's just a catalogue than I would suggest K2 with tags as manufacturers and extra fields as products attributes, but I'm afraid the boxes You are referring to are comming from modules which may not support tags or extrafields. In this case I would use K2 category view and customize it a little bit to display products as boxes. But I'll not be able to assist with that since we do not support such customizations.
