Piotr,

Simplicity > Widgets:

Is there any cause for the Widget Rules interface to not open properly in the latest version of Wordpress 4.2.2 (as of this post)?

I've installed Simplicity for demo purposes and cannot get the Widget Rules interface to function properly. Sometimes the menu options will open upon pressing the 'Widget Rules' button but most times it will not open.

Additionally, even if the options do open, the interface may continue to be non-functional for options such as 'Add Page' (Select Page to Add).

For your reference, I am attempting to setup up the Search Box in the Frontpage Header.

Is this a bug in Wordpress 4.2.2 or something else?

Without the functionality of Widget Rules, the Simplicity Theme cannot be configured properly.

Curious if you can take a quick look. I am sending login details to your PM inbox so you can see and test for yourself.

Thank you!

Hi,

You have duplicated Widget Rules, the simplicity theme uses the built in widget rules mechanism, but you've also installed our external "GK Widget Rules" plugin, please remove it and it should be ok.

** Solved **

Yes, you are correct, Piotr. I had duplicate plugins for GK Widget Rules installed.

For anyone that runs into this issue, the solution is as Piotr stated: Remove or disable the external 'GK Widget Rules' plugin to rectify the problem.

In my case, it was to simply 'disable' the extraneous 'GK Widget Rules' plugin for this theme (Simplicity). How did I end up with x2 of the plugin installed? Answer: I uploaded two Gavick themes (Quark/Simplicity) into my Wordpress WPMU network, each theme active on its own independent sub-domain/sub-site. Quark suggested a default set of plugins to install which included the external 'Gk Widget Rules' plugin.

I then installed 'Simplicity' which also had the 'Gk Widget Rules' plugin built into the installation as well. This created two instances of 'Gk Widget Rules' plugins active on my WPMU network, therefore active on each sub-domain/sub-site. This caused the conflict in Simplicity.

It was easy to go into the WPMU sub-site where Simplicity was installed and disable the duplicate 'Gk Widget Rules' plugin for that sub-domain/sub-site only.

Now everything works fine.
