Hi guys,

sorry- i'm a joomla noob, trying to work through this installation. i have 2.5.9 joomla running on my server- will 2.5 simplicity theme be compatible? I'm trying to install the template using the package manager and keep receiving a server error:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Any insight would be much appreciated- thanks.

Hi,

Few questions:

* Did you tried to install the template package or quickstart package.
* Do you have similar problems with other extensions?

Hi, sure it works perfect, I've tried.
It looks like server settings problem, Error 500 issues are, more often than not, associated with permission settings on/for your server folders. Ask your Web Host's Technical Support and they should be able to look into the matter and assist you.

Second, Have you tried install other templates , ours or not?

Not sure if this is your issue but..
just to note, i got an error on the front end of the DEMO once installed, but i went to the admin and there was an update on a gavick extension so i updated it by clicking the update button and it fixed the front end issue...

@created4greed - most probably you're using PHP 5.2 - the NSP GK5 v.1.0.0 was compatible only with PHP 5.3 or higher - installed update (v.1.0.1) fixed the problem and now PHP 5.2 is fully suppported by the NSP GK5 extension.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the prompt replies. I finally got the quickstart version up and running- not sure what the problem was on Godaddy's end but I simply FTP'd the files over and navigated over to the installation file.

With that being said, my current task is to add Linkedin integration (ability to authenticate/pull data from Linkedin profile) to my Simplicity-template site. (should I start a new thread?) I tried searching the forums for any information pertaining to the Linkedin API/JLinked and wasn't able to find any resources.

Would something like this:

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... ased/18957

integrate with Simplicity? Thanks in advance!

Sorry but this kind of custom works are beyond our support - I suggest to use ready 3rd party extensions if you want to avoid editing the template code.
