Hi, I have just installed the quickstart file at http://www.surveypanama.com/ and have the following error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /home/jonathan/public_html/modules/mod_news_pro_gk5/helper.php on line 98

What is the issue?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

Are you using PHP 5.2? If yes, please check if you can upgrade to PHP 5.3, because the NSP widget uses some PHP constructions which are available in PHP 5.3 or newer only.

@optimized - I've just released v.1.0.1 of the NSP GK5 module - please install it using the update manager in Joomla! module manager to fix your problem directly (if you cannot use PHP 5.3).

Thanks very much. I did manage to install the site on my php 5.3 server.

Where can I find the module that you have just created for 5.2?

Regards,

Mike

In our download section: https://www.gavick.com/download/joomla- ... owpro.html or you can just upgrade the module from the Joomla! back-end - the NSP GK5 version supports the Joomla! Update System :)

I had a similar issue when installing - I did upgrade the News Pro module (through a direct install of the new package rather than an Update through Joomla admin, update failed but module seemed to upgrade ok)

But I now have issues viewing the admin panel for News Pro GK5 and when I make changes to K2 articles that it references in the front end the changes aren't reflected? I am running PHP 5.2.17.

Thanks for any help

@kieraweston - there was another problem with PHP 5.2.*, but I've fixed it in the version 1.0.2 and I've installed it on your page too :)

@darrencl - please read previous posts - as I've wrote earlier - you have to go to the updates section in your back-end and update the News Show Pro GK5 module - version 1.0.2 should solve all problems with old PHP versions.
