I have been trying unsuccessfully to get the Simplicity template to operate something like the demo

Desperately want to get the (Powerful landing page theme for running serious business) Top Section working that slides on scroll down

I have gone through the set up pages on demo site and followed instructions as best I could .. I just cant get it working .. Spent to long trawling forum ... I really didn't expect it to be so difficult to get this working

Apologies im not a coder or in any way a Computer Expert so had some real trouble, with it, Joomla was already installed so couldn't use the quick install route

News and Image Show just don't work either ... I Tried changing the PHP Image Magik or Quotes or something like that .. nothing

I tried updating the template and just get a 404 page

Any Help would be greatly appreciated as I have spent much much longer than expected trying to get the template working like the demo

Cheers for any help

Frustrated

Hi

You can download template here: https://www.gavick.com/download/joomla- ... icity.html

If You can try using a quickstart package which is an exact copy of our demo page. If You cannot use it for some reason, than it may be a good idea to install it in some other location to have something to compare the settings with.

Also there is a documentation with detailed settings for template: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... on-joomla/

Thanks for replying I tried your link and got for the documentation and got

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /home/gavick/public_html/documentation/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1974

Even though when it did work, as already said above (I have gone through the set up pages on demo site and followed instructions as best I could) and got a lot of the modules to work, all except the slide down top ... first bit of the template, which I desperatly want to get working

In an ideal world I agree the quick install would have been great, but I already had joomla instaled and the site half set up with other software so that option would not have worked

The site is offline till I can get this working and News and Image Show as also mentioned, I would appreaciate it if I could send log in info to somebody with much better experiance than me with this purchase that works in support that could take 30 seconds to have a look to see why .. or if I have done something wrong

thanks
Paul

Hi

Sorry I thought You've wrote that modules works ok now.

I'm having problems to manage this module from backend at the moment. Have You thought about using the default joomla administrator template ? I think some of the options are missing here as boxes to add images or wrong javascript classes.

im happy to change the backend to whatever is best mate

I only used that back template to get the dropdown menus on a tablet to work ... but im easy on changing it

Sorry my fault the Modules working I meant was the custom modules in the template ... GK news or image .. still just loads or if I add text it just loads and doesnt appear

Thanks for taking the time to help .. apologies at my ignorance with backend workings of PHP or Java Script or whatever technicalities makes the motor run ... which is why an off the shelf option I thought would ease the pain of building a site

Thanks again

Hi

I've added a page class suffix, but than I've noticed couple of issues. For example menu. A default home menu element is an orphan element of some unused menu. You should move it to Top Menu and remove the home element You have there now.

For header, there is too many modules published there so the intro doesn't looks quite right even with correct style attached after adding page class suffix.

Image Show module works correctly now. So it has to be a lack of some library in this other joomla administrator template.

Hi

Tabs were set to be visible only by an user group called "Guest". I've changed it to "Public" and now they are showing just fine.
