I would like to turn the menu in the inset position into a slide out submenu but so far have no luck. I even tried to make it a dropdown menu but it just appears on the screen. I would like at the very least for it to appear after it's clicked or slide out when hovered over. can someone help with this?

Best way to do this would be to hide menu in template settings and use a module capable of such animation. I'm afraid out products doesn;t have that option, so You will need to use a 3rd party one.
