How would I move the left side menu down a bit as to not interfere with the graphic logo?

Please enable override.css in Your template settings, than edit the file (it is located in /css folder inside of templates/themename directory)
and add at its end:

#gkInset {padding: 100px 0 0 50px;}


If You need to move it down more, increase 100px into higher value.

If I may be so bold as to ask you another question.

When I'm viewing the home page on a tablet the top divider, between the banner and the body sections, displays on top of the logo. Is it possible to to increase the banner height for tablet viewing only?
