Joomla! 3.0.3
Template: Magazine

In reference to:

    "What's hot" sidebar module, mod_news_pro_gk4 , and
    Joomla! Article "Typography", category=uncategorized, ID=1.

Problem: When using the News Show Pro GK4 sidebar module, "What's hot," to display Joomla! articles one article must be displayed or the page will read "oops you've encountered an error." Any attempt to remove this article from the path of the module (when the module is set to display Joomla content) will result in the above error. Also, this article which must be selected is the only article that actually displays; no other articles from any category will display alongside the problematic article.

EXAMPLES:

With the news module: published
Attempting to unpublish the Joomla article "Typography," ID 1, results with "oops you've encountered an error" when returning to a page/menu item where the module is assigned.

With the news module: unpublished
Attempting to unpublish joomla article "typography," ID 1, results with the page/menu item displaying, however, the news module is removed.

With the module: published
Attempting to modify module/Options/Data source/Source of articles to:

Joomla! categories - The page displays only if the uncategorized category is selected; receive "oops" on all other categories or combination of categories where uncategorized is not selected.

Joomla! articles - The page displays only if article ID 1 is in the field entry; removing 1 will cause "oops" even when other ID's are entered and published. Ordering of ID entry (1,4,25,34 vs 4,25,1,34) does not affect the result.

All Joomla! articles - Attempting to modify module/Options/Data source/First news number to any number greater than zero results with "oops" at menu items where the module is assigned.

Note: I do have other articles and categories for the module to display, but it doesn't find them.

The site can be found here. The module is assigned to all category pages and to the home page.

thanks for reading, the site is not for commercial purposes (i'm lost), please help.

Probably you missed article ID with order in backend, please attach a screenshot with article list where typography articles has ID == 1.

@bkrztuk

It would appear that the Joomla! fairies visited me in my sleep.

When I left the page last night the module was as described, problematic. I wake up this morning (I'm seven hours behind you) and miraculously the module is displaying other articles.

Now my question seems to have changed. How is that possible?

For two days the module could only be bothered to display one article and one article only, but overnight it has changed its mind?

Did some hacker out there take pity on my plea for help, and like a ninja busted into my Joomla! installation?

Did something refresh causing the module to display properly?

Really, what could cause this? I have to, need to, know.

thanks for the response.

Hmm maybe this is problem with differences between your server time and real time or cache issue. Please first of all reinstall News Show Pro module (we've fixed some part of time problems in latest update), maybe this will help.

I have the same problem. It appears that news done today will not show. But next day they will or if I change the creation date.

Please firstly modify offset value in News Show Pro module configuration, test -12 and +12 values.

I'll play around with the time settings in my CMS. the funny thing is that when chancing the time of publishing, the treshold between not published and not-published is on the hour. So 7.00.01 ja different that 7.00.00

Now it seem that I would need a +13 setting on the module to get the time right, and still there is some problems that I cant quit explain to text yet. I'll have to understand the logic first. But quickly... it seam that the treshold for published and non-published changes to some weird logic. Let's say yesterday the treshold was 3.6.2013 at 01.01 am and today it's 3.7.2013 8.01 and after an hour of waiting it's still 8.01, not 9.01

Weird!

Are you sure that you have properly configure timezone value in global Joomla! configuration. The problem exist because of time difference between real time and your server time.
