Bold Headlines

Hi Im happy with the layout it is great just would like a couple of tiny tweeks.
1- Possible to have a background / highlight bar of colour behind text in a custom colour on the heading for the columns eg title/author/ date/ hits etc for category and categories lists layouts ?
2 - Possible to make the headlings or headlines just a little heavier/bolder for an older audience ?

if so where do I change this?

I have looked with firebug but honestly firebug is confusing to the max for the amatuer like me. If only I could find the name of the file it is showing me and then find that name in your template list. I NEVER can. So it is just one huge frustration. Where do I find the file to .....

would like to have a solid bar for titles of category lists like this site http://polomagazines.com/polo-club-news
would also like to have my own choice of special custom colour as a link highlight and also instead of grey one point lines.
would like to change the highlight hover over colour of logo too and would like the page tags prev and next to be one of 'my' choice of custom colours too.

I like the template as is just want my highlight colours...
