Hi,

I am a new customer (and this is my first post), so after my purchase i come in face with problems (i hope it just for now :).
I install the gk_twn2_quickstart_J30 (Joomla 3x).
When i am in Administrator>Dashboard and click on K2 Quick Icons (admin) buttons:
-Extra fields
-Extra field groups
i get the error "An error has occurred. 500 Layout default not found" and i see the "Return to Control Panel" button.
Is it something that i can do, or it is template problem?
Thank you in advance.

Probably something goes wrong during installation process. Please try to download K2 again and reinstall.

I try to download and install everything but again i get the error: An error has occurred 500 Layout default not found

I try to update to the latest K2 version (v2.6.7. - 08 July 2013) and again i get the error: An error has occurred 500 Layout default not found
I never had installation problem from other templates...

Please advice!

I am sure that there is a problem with your ''quick start'' template!
When i install the template (simple, no quick start) i have no problem with ''Extra fields'' and ''Extra field groups''.
When i install quick start template, i get the ''An error has occurred 500 Layout default not found''.
Can you please fix it, cause this template is the reason that i pay my membership.

I've installed quickstart package, you mean this views screenshot and screenshot? If yes, all is working fine for me so it really looks like K2 or your server issue.

Thank you bkrztuk for your try to help me.
I see the screenshot that you post. Unfortunately, in my installation(s), every time that I try to access the buttons: "Extra fields" and "Extra field groups" I get the same error. The answer that is "your server issue" (sorry but it is classic in every support group:) is not fault in my server (i host my sites in a hosting company that never had problems before), cause the second template without "quick start" works OK!
So, my lifetime membership maybe begins with lifetime problem!!!
Anyway, thank you very much bkrztuk.

Please remove K2 and install again. It looks like some problem with K2 tables in database so maybe creating them from scratch will help.

It really looks like something is wrong with your installation, maybe file permissions. Please try several things :
- install Admin Tools >> http://www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/admin-tools-the-quick-and-easy-way-to-change-folder-and-file-permissions/ and check file permissions,
- run database repair >> http://www.joomlabamboo.com/blog/how-to-joomla/how-to-fix-database-issues-in-joomla-25

Hi,
I bought the full version of akeebabackup (including admin tools) and I run it without any results...
The database repair tool is for Joomla 2.5. Can I use it for Joomla 3.1?
Thank you in advance.

Yes it is exactly the same. Another thing omes to my mind, did you remove any user groups in Joomla!? The K2 user groups are created based on this Joomla! ones, so maybe there is some conflict between this settings.

Hi,

I do not remove any users. I have made at least 50 times the installation (without import or add or remove anything) and I get the same and same error when I use the quick start!
Thank you.

bkrztuk!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're a lifesaver!!!!!!!!!!!
That exactly fix the error.
So this is a known issue in gavick. Maybe gavick must INCLUDE the fix (as all users will update their joomla 3.x installations for security reason) to quickstart template.
Once again, thank you bkrztuk!

Yes I forgot about this issue, because we notice it long time ago when J!3 was release. I'm glad I could help you and hope that this will resolve other similar problems.
