Remove links from News Pro

Is there any way I can remove the links from News Pro pictures? If not, is there a way to prevent the links from working, using JS JQuery?

Either modifying core module files or javascript might cause problems when updating the module. With update those kind of changes will be overwritten by new files so it will only work if you will not update. Are you aware of that?

Have you tried to disable image link from NSP configuration?
