Hello,

I wanted to install a component and it required php 5.3. So l asked my web host to install php 5.3 for me.

And after l had this error: Cannot connect to mysql database(2)

So l informed my webhost again and they fixed this. And it seems they created a new database user

Now the problem l am facing is that l cannot log in to the back-end. I have read most joomla forums and still none works .. What l realized when l check _users database was that, the usertype values have all been changed to deprecated. I changed them back to Super Administrator. Still didn't work

I entered a new MD5 hash password for the word "secret", still didn't work.

Could you please help me to access the back end. My client is killing me

Probably there is a problem with user sessions table, please look at this table, backup and try to remove all records. If this will not help probably the only way is to restore site from backup package, hope you made backup before such big change like PHP version.

Thanks but l fixed this issue and l hope sharing will help you all. I just went to my PHPAdmin and open the table zpote_extenstions (Note: zpote should be your database prefix). And l enable com_login, com_authentication.

Just edit the table and change the value in enable column to 1.

That is all and l manged to log in back.

Thanks
