Joomla Users not syncing with K2

Hi,

i have tried pretty much any configuration and modules to make syncing between joomla and k2 possible but it is just not happening. When a new user registers they are put in the joomla group as registered but not added in the k2 user group under registered users. At the moment i have to manually add them.
I changed the k2 configuration to make the registered group the default group new users are supposed to be added to but it is not working. Can anyone help me, please. Maybe a step by step walk through of what should be turn on/off in the plugins and or modules. Thank you!!!
