Game Magazine Layout problem in IE8 Win XP

Hi there,

I'm experiencing problems with the mainbody width in Game Magazine template.
This problems occurs in IE8 and versions below but only in Win XP.

Everything works fine in all browsers on Windows 7/Mac but not in XP.
For some reason, the main body width gets decreased and results in incorrect layout (see attachment).

I think the problem is related to the percentage settings in the template layout settings.
I’ve tested the game magazine demo site too and noticed the same issue (demo.gavick.com – select Game Magazine template).

Is there workaround on this issue?

Hi

Can You please show me the exact page You have this problem ?

Please also try if the same issue is present after when You will disable joomla and template cache and clear it.

Hi teitbite,

Here is the link:
http://neofinity.no/demo/norelle/index.php/blog

I don't know if the problem really is with the mainbody or right side of the template.
For some reason it actually pushes the right side modules towards left.
This is also visible on Demo site of game magazine template:
http://demo.gavick.com/joomla16/oct2011/index.php/blog

As you can see on the gavicks demo site - it actually affects the mainbody slightly differently.
I hoep you understand what I mean.

I've tried clearing the joomla and template cache too but it doesn't help

Is there anyone who knows a workaround on this?
I've noticed that the e-Sport template actually doesn't have this issue at all - works on all browsers and OS's..

Please help..

Hi

Sorry. I do not know why I'm not subscribed to this thread, must be be because of some old bug on the forum.

Acctually thoose are two different problems:

@mxcpz - in Your case there is a validation error. Please check if You have all HTML tags closed propperly in article on this site.

@neofinity - both example are showing ok for me in IE8 & WinXP emulator. Please try to disable all cache (the one from template and from joomla), clear it and take a look again. If this will still be like that I'll send this to programmers.

teitbite - this is embarassing, but i managed to report your post instead of clicking the reply button  sorry about that.

As i wrote in my 'report' - the problem is not just with my site but with all gavick templates.
I tested the demo site (demo.gavick.com) and noticed the same issue on all demo templates too.

Followed your instructions but experienced the same problem again for some reason..

I think the problem doesn't show up in emulators but it appears on a real PC..

Hi

IE8 got some sort of developer tool so only if I can see it I'll find the answer. Unfortunately it looks fine in all my hardware so I will need to use Your computer accessed remotely. Please add me on skype:teitbite and I'll look at it when we meet. My skype is always online even if I'm not around, so do not get angry if I will not be responding.

Do not worry about reporting. My boss will see that there is nothing to report here :)
