Component/Mainbody Only Mix up in Template Options?

Hi am using Game Magazine to design a new update for my site on a test server.

However I think in the Template parameters Basic Settings there seems to be a problem with the "Main Body - FrontPage" and "Main Body - subpages" options, because on my Home page the Joomla content articles only get replaced by modules I have placed in the mainbody position when the Template parameters option for "Main Body - FrontPage" is only set to "Mainbody Only" which I thought meant only show articles? The option "Component Only" shows only the Joomla Articles and not the module I have placed in the mainbody module position which is the opposite of how I understood it.

This isn't necessarily a problem but for Subpages. I don't want to show the Joomla articles on certain Category Blog layouts. And no matter what I do they still seem to show up on the front end. I set "Main Body - subpages" option in Template parameters to Component Only but this has made no difference.

Can you check the coding of these options to make sure you haven't assigned them to the wrong parameter please. Or if I am misunderstanding these options explain what they actually do?
