Hi there,

Last night I receive an email frommy hosting provider, because the website is using excessive resources. Is not man extensions installed there, and I use the News template quick installation package. Do you have some clues what could be wrong?

You can find below the report of my hosting provider:

Unfortunately, due to our architecture and dynamic websites we are unable to provide the exact source of the issue such as the site, file name, etc). However, we are able to provide you with a reading of what our system is considering to be the issue. Keep in mind that due to some websites being dynamic in nature, the reported file names may not provide you with the actual source.

Chances are the issue is related to your main website, MySQL database, plugins, etc. You will have to speak to the creator of the software or check their forum's to find out the best possible ways of site optimising.

Hi,
there could be few reasons, one of them that somebody tried to hack your site.
Have you got installed RSFirewall or Akeeba Tools Pro - if not please use it. It will block hackers bots IP after x times.

Joomla 3.1 have good & quick engine, our template couldn't be so heavy, maybe you have too much module installed, hmm ?

In your short log info I saw only main index.php from Joomla, no more info that could help me.
One of my client have much better logs / error logs - that we could track "broken/slow" extension.

You could use http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ - to do some tests.

But ... you have to ask your hosting company how to increase cache features.
Use PHP 5.4 and new MySQL etc. because this is your real engine.

p.s.
You could use PHPMyAdmin to repair and optimization your database - this should help also.

I used the quick installation package, where the comment system was configured without any tool as recaptcha to avoid hacking. I look everywhere in Joomla trying to find the problem, update ans re-install every extension, and finally I found in k2 comment system thousand of comments. My suggestion is don't leave the comment system in the quick installation packages to avoid a similar problem to other users.

Thanks for advice.

But we assume, however, that users can use K2. If not they should uninstall all extension that don't want to use.
