Hello,

I just started modifying one of my joomla 3.1 test sites. It would be working, then suddenly I get a 1064 error

Oops, you've encountered an error
It appears the page you were looking for doesn't exist. Sorry about that.

Home Page | Contact Webmaster

Initially, I thought it was an empty GK4 module (see other post), and it did got resolved. But, this happened again after I was posting new content articles, to replace the demo articles..

After I stopped last night because of the error. This morning, when I tried again, it was working. I could view the site again.

[Note: The backend (admin page) was working all the time. No error problems there.]

I noticed the joomla 3.1 test site was also slow (both of the joomla 3.1 test sites I am experimenting with are slow), so I unpublished many of the modules, or let them appear only in inner pages.

After adding four more new articles (I was checking the front end after each addition), the error came back again.

I posted a ticket to my internet service provider, and they found two issues:

--The site is timing out
--For some reason, the site is also calling out to other websites I own
kalikasan Joomla 1.5.x site. Bety stable site, never had a problem
NMS Joomla 3.x new site, still demo content.

What are common among these sites - they are all Gavick Pro templates and in the same server.

All the Gavick Pro Joomla sites I created in the past were stable. This problem is new with Joomla 3.x

Hi Cornelio,

I've checked the error logs and it appears to be that you're hitting a timeout limit with your scripts. Could we please get the username/password as well as the steps to reproduce the problem? We'll need to try to see if we can reproduce the problem and locate the cause.

Also, have you generated a custom PHP.ini file yet, to increase the timeout and execution time limits? We have a great tutorial for this task being completed here: http://kb.site5.com/php/how-to-setup-a- ... -ini-file/ - or we can help you get this sorted out as well if you want.

I am tempted to stick with Joomla 2.5.x because I never encountered this issue before; but the new sites will have quite extensive content.

Hi

Error 1064 is a wrong sql syntax id I remember correctly, so the reaching time limit may be causing this error as well when sql queries are not finished. Please check if there is no articles/categories/users which were deleted but soem extentions are still using it.

About communicating with other sites I have no idea. This should not happen. The first thing which came to my head is a malware searching for areas to replicate, but You would see more issues than.

Please try to check what I've mentioned and if You will not find anythig than send me an access to joomla panel.

Thanks teitbite!

It took some time to resolve it. What I did was unpublished most of the articles, and modules, including all the K2 that I am not familiar with right now. I just focused on the Joomla modules, menus, categories and articles, for now.

It seemed like it would never be resolved at times, but I finally got the site to appear.

My ISP provider installed a php.ini to avoid the timing out. There are some issues still, like the sie is taking very long to load or it would stall. I had to re-clicl it.

Hi

In Your case the problem may be when site is looking for removed content. I think the best way would be not to use quickstart. It's mostly based on K2, so a cleaner result You will get by installing clean joomla and template package only. Than use Your quickstart to copy settings for modules You need. This is the best way to avoid problems You have.
