changing menu for template

I would like to change the menu being used with the news template to another menu that has a horizontal drop down feature - i don't see a module for the menu that can be replaced - please advise

Hi

Our templates are not using module positions for main menu. Please check if there is an option to switch to a different menu type in template configuration. If not, You will need to remove the menu You have now and create new module position instead than You will be able to add some menu module.
