importing and replacing k2 content via phpadmin

I would like to replace the k2 content from another site into a fresh install of news for joomla 3.0.
I have dropped the k2 tables - imported the tables from the other site via phpadmin and it crashed my site

How can I import the k2 content from my site to the news site without crashing the site ?

both sites are joomla 3.03 based

i get the following error message on the home page
