I was meaning the box top left were it says Steve Cunningham “My opponent used illegal tactics”

http://ringnews24.com/joomlatest2/

How do I change the Big Box, with the image to only post featured articles?

-------------------------------------

Also when I post a picture inside an article it takes ages to post to the front page, how do I speed the process up?

Thanks

Hi

I've changed "Frontpage items only" in module settings to enable and looks like it's working for big image box, but I cannot figure out what is the problem with the top module. Do You mean that there are articles which shouldn;t be there ? I've seen option "Show unauthorized items" was enabled so I disabled it.

What you have doen for the big image box is PERFECT, I wanted it just to show featured articles from our writers. What module/position did you you change to make it work?

Top module, thats find I was meaning the big image box which you fixed.

The other problem I am getting is when I post a image inside an article or when I post a new article it doesnt show on the front page straight away, some times is takes hours to show up.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Hi

All I did was enable option "Frontpage items only" in a module You have there already (I think mainbody position). Do You mean that whole article is displayed hours later or just an image. If it's an image please try changing the cache time to lower value if it's whole article than play with an offset settings.

Both the article and images.

I will try lowering the cache, what do you reccomend I change it to.

With the whole article, how do I change the offset setting?

Contacted my hosts and they confirmed the time is set to Europe/London and they reset the server.

The NEW articles appear in there section ie. http://ringnews24.com/joomlatest2/index ... oxing-news straight away, but dont show on the front page for hours/sometimes a day later.

My Joomla config file is set to Europe/Joomla.

Hi

There is an option in NSP to set the time offset for such problems. Please try to use it and let me know if it helped.

Hi

Ok. That was my last hope. Lets get rid of the dates from source query. Please edit file /modules/mod_news_pro_gk4/gk_classes/gk.source.k2.php and around line 207 - 208 remove this 2 lines:

Code: Select all
                AND ( content.publish_up = '.$db->Quote($nullDate).' OR content.publish_up <= '.$db->Quote($now).' )
               AND ( content.publish_down = '.$db->Quote($nullDate).' OR content.publish_down >= '.$db->Quote($now).' )

this should break the connection between article creation date.

Hi, I had same problem and I made this edit. Now problem is that when I make K2 articles with timing (exam. publish date tomorrow) module show these articles and generate broken links. Is there any better solution for this problem? Thanks.

Hi

This solution is simply removing timing options from module, but there is no way it can affect links. Please show me Your site wit an example of such broken link.

Ok, my mistake. Not broken links but 404.

I mean, if I want to publish my articles ex. tomorrow. Now module don't care about publishing times, it shows everything too early and when I click these articles before official publishing time I get 404 page.

Hi

If You've been able to catch the delay time than You may try to play with offset option in module parameters. It should work for You. Most of the above issues were not showing articles at all.

thanks! that works... for the moment

its so strange, my modules need different offset times. for a few hours +9 works; now i have to set +15.
we're lots of guys who publishing the whole day, from the same office. i've checked timezone settings for each useraccount but we all got the same timezone.

please get that fixed soon, that would be very great if joomla, k2 and gavick working together without such annoying problems.

hey guys,

please get that fixed soon. every few days i have to set new offset times because publishing delay is not the same. did you guys from gavick have another computation of time? ;)

if i set publishing time to full hours like 12:00 it works nearly everytime but when i set publishing time to half hours like 12:30 it will not publish before 13:00.
for your notice: all publishers got the same time zone settings and everybody uses the same network connection!

Hi

This has something to do with changes to data format in newest joomla. I can see this bug report is closed, so please try to update joomla and module.

you can't close this bug report because this bug still exists!

updated to nsp gk4 3.3.7.1
updated joomla to 3.1.4.

meanwhile i have to set +8 in my offset settings, yesterday i had to set +14 !

the problem with giving a sh*# about minutes in my publishing time also still exists, it will just work for full hours.

also tried the solution from the link https://www.gavick.com/forums/news-show-pro-gk4/news-show-pro-gk4-not-displaying-latest-article-23156.html?p=110518&hilit=latest#p110518
this modification ignores publishing time and offset settings completely and i can see now articles with publishing date for tommorow.

hi

No no. You misunderstood. I'm not closing bug report, I make the opposite :) I think this problem was caused by some changes in joomla (or a joomla bug) and looks like they reverted it. So fixed module got broke again when never joomla is used. Interesting thing is that it's happening not on all servers.

Yes my solution is removing this ability so only people who are not using publishing with time can benefit from it.

Ok. As I said I'm sending this back to programmers.
