the template is very slow

I renewed my business plan and I installed, with quickstart package, the template "News" but the site, in opening, is very slow. I did a test with gtmetrix.com is the usual template, in your demo loads quickly while my site is extremely slow so I'm delaying to put online the new template. You can take control of you?
(I had to solve another problem: do not open the media management .. so I think there is some files that is not working as it should because it is really too slow.
The usual contents, usually on a server with your template (J1.5) is twice as fast)

Is a major problem for me because I would go out with the new site

The time to answer by your host is very long, then files are loading very fast. Page weight is 2.4MB which is lot of but it should not be loading 20seconds. Did you try to contact with your hosting?

Yes, I talked to the host and are doing the tests. I also did a test, disabling all modules gknews4 but the load time is too slow (6.70''). You have to suggest me a hosting?

I know it's for J3.x users - but most tips should work also on J2.5

1) What hosting company you are using?
2) We suggest also to use at least PHP 5.4 and MySQL 5

I can't recommend your any hosting but please check the Siteground. No matter which company you choos please ask for few free days to make speed tests before you pay them

If your site users are from this same country as you - choose hosting which have servers on your country,
if this is global - you can buy in popular company.

Sorry for the delay in my response, I first wanted to compare with the technicians of the host.
Before you consider changing hosting, I would like to submit some details: The old site is in joomla 1.5 with php 5.3.28 and the new site is created with the template of your "news" in joomla 2.5 and is installed on a folder the old site.

If your hosting would be good - it would have at least PHP 5.4, not old PHP 5.3
also version of database it old.

For example I have :
PHP Built On Linux p21 3.6.8-grsec-pgr #2 SMP
Database Version 5.1.65-log
Database Collation utf8_general_ci
PHP Version 5.4.16 - I can also change PHP to 5.5 if I want to anytime.

and GK News quickstart works really fast, but remember template is not everything.
