Author Not Linking

I want my author byline to link to the author profile or a list of other articles they've written.

I've opened the global options in the article manager and changed "Link Author" from no to yes. I also manually switched it to yes on the article. However, when I view the article in the front end, the author's name is still not a link, just plain text.

1) Are you talking about K2 item ?
2) Could you add URL where you have this issue ?

I have checked my demo page and in K2 item view user name is click-able.

I think I understand where the problem is ....
Only K2 items - have such a feature - that authors name redirect to authors K2 items (articles)
Default Joomla articles don't have such a feature inside. Can only link to contact page if you will YES.

Long time ago...
For Joomla! 1.5 there were a plug-ins called:

- "Author Details" by Ercan Özkaya which offered list of other articles they've been written by author

- "Author Link" - offered the ability to link the name of the author of Joomla content item to Author Description Content Item or Contact Item.

Ok, that is my problem then, because I am not using K2. I'm trying to move away from it because it just hasn't been worthwhile for me in the past. Maybe there is an extension that can produce the result I want. Will have to look around for one. If anyone knows of one off-hand, please feel free to leave a suggestion.

Yesterday I've checked Ercan Özkaya webpage - but unfortunately he didn't publish new version for J2.5/j3.x
I suggest to ask him... for author It would be max 30 minutes to update plugin.
