Hi there,
Our new site using the NEWS template is incredibly slow and tends to lose connection with the SQL database.
Are there issues experienced by others too?

Hi,
If you have enabled all features for optimize Joomla itself and template cache, and you still have such a problems it's time to ask support from your hosting service what's wrong and check your logs etc.

It's no normal at all, probably if you had other template it would be similar situation.
