Must I use K2 for News Template?

Hello

I prefer NOT to use k2 for this template, but if i have to, how do i get remove the term "categories" from the link: k2/categories/world/item/191-obama-bringing-lawmakers-to-oval-office-last-minute-cliff-talks

If i can do without k2, how do i go about positioning the respective articles in the locations? I did a full installation with your package.

If you just want to use Joomla! content you need to modify data source for all modules to respective Joomla! categories - that's all. Path to article is based on your menu structure (menu item aliases) surely some of parent item have this alias - please check your menu settings.
