First for news j2.5 this is not the backend. I think you have posted in wrong place. This board is for news j2.5 version.

Secondly what your trying to achieve can you be more specific?

Well if your trying to hide some information or component data in front end then I can recommend you Advance module manger. Using this component you can do wonders in placing data around the site fron end.

The option to hide component on page was limited to frontpage due possible problems with some components, when option to hide component on subpages was available. That's why this option is not available on the templates based on Gavern 3.* (starting with League News)
