Where can expand the width of the space for the module register

That should be below code. You can add width property or increase padding on each side.

that code is placed where? overide?

Yes css/override.css and enable css override option in template settings > Options > advanced settings, see you around...

overide pasted it in, turn overide, but does not increase the space

if your website is online please post a link as override code works fine in my testing.
