Banner position not working in IE for Image Show GK4

I have an Image show GK4 module that works fine in all positions with Firefox/Safari. However, it does not load properly in IE when assigned to the "banner" position below the menu module position. Looks like it is trying to load in the "social" or "top banner" position. Any work arounds?

Here are two screen shots from IE8: First is with the isGK4 module width set to 100% (default) style.css line 44. 2nd is with the width set to exact banner width of 980px.
