Hi guys,
Is there a way to set the base url?

I'm not sure how to condense this, but here goes.
There appears to be a problem with my base url.
Here is the link to the site:
http://heavencanyouhearme.com/

Compare that to the exact same site via a temporary link:
http://174.132.89.171/~heavenca/

You'll notice that some of the javascript doesn't work on the first link, but it does work on the second one.

I called my hosting company and they said some of the content on the live site is pointing to the temporary link url "/~heavenca/" while apparently the other content on the same page doesn't have this problem.

Is there a way to set the base url?
By the way, J!2.5

I figured out the problem. It was javascript compression.
I turned it off and everything worked.

Hi

Yes this is a common issue. Anyway You wll have to use compression at some point as it's a way for better SEO. Try to add Your site's domain in a live_site value in configuration.php value.

Hi there,
I checked the configuration.php file and the live_site value is correct. I'm not sure what to do so the javascript compression won't cause problems. By the way.. I don't have any caching turned on either.

This is a live site now and the site does have Akeeba backup set up.
I'm only saying this because I had a bad experience with someone logging into a site and messing it up. That led to a major problem with my client.

So please only do the testing on the caching that you mentioned. I apologize if it sounds bad. I just don't need problems right now. I hope you can understand my perspective.

I've created a temporary account for you. You should get an email with the login details.

Hi

Ok. No problem. Unfortunately the level of permissions for my account is not letting me to check anything.

Hi

I still had no access to global joomla setting to check base url, but that's fine, I've checked something different and looks like when javascript is compressed from template settings than a path to javascript file is relative, so will work even if Your problem will still be present. Anyway I think that issue can be related to cache. Try clearing it while checking both url. Anyway I advice javascript compression solution.
