My Account usermenu not showing

I am trying to add a menu to the My Account popup window. I have created a menu module and associated the menu I want to use. I have assigned the "usermenu" position to this module. When I am logged in and click on the My Account link, I do not see the menu. I used firebug to take a look at the code and it appears that the menu is there, but it is not showing on the website. Any suggestions.
