Hello there is an issue with cache configuration.

- I want to use the joomla standard cache ie the one configured under configuration.
everytime i turn it on, the mainbody width (which has a standard width of 3 in the parameters except for the home page which has a rule override of 2) gets much smaller on all the other pages .
The home page has in the parameter a width of 2.

As if when the cache is turned on , it looses the mainbody width parameter and applies the home page width to all the pages.

when i turn off the cache, the home page has still a width of 2 and on the other pages it recovers the standard width of 3.

1. is it a known issue ? and how we can fix that ?

2. I tried to enter in the content width rules a width of 3 either for an itemid or for a whole component and still when the cache is enabled it does not seem to take into account the rules and takes apparently the width of the home page which is smaller .

Anyone encountered this problem and found a solution ?

Thank you

As a test, I changed in the template parameters the content width rule for the home page (Itemid 101) to 3
and then when i enable the cache, all pages have now the width of 3.

Thus apparently even if we add rules or even if we change the parameter for Mainbody width in the template parameters, once the cache is enabled, it seems it only takes into account the component width set for the home page. and does not seem to get the width from the rules or from the Mainbody width parameter anymore.

Hi

If You are making layout changes to some pages than it's better to use Gavick cache available from template. Joomla cache keeps values which are sometimes override for such pages.

hello

thank you for your answer.

I was afraid of that.

when looking at the cache folder, the GK cache and extended cache do not seem to cache the components and modules. It seems to only cache the template elements.

ok will look for an alternative.
