Double breadcrumb when more categories

When a product is assigned to two categories, sometimes both categories are displayed in the breadcrumb.

For example:
Product A is placed in subcategory X and subcategory Y of category N.

I have a menu item to both subcategories. When I select the product to go to the product detail page from the first subcategory, the breadcrumb is ok. But when I then go to the other subcategory, the breadcrumb is displaying both subcategories, like this:

Home/Category N/Sub cat. X/Category N/Sub cat. Y/Product A.

How can I manage it to display only that subcategory where I go to the details page from?

I am using the latest joomla 2.5.11 and virtuemart 2.0.22a

I think there is a separated VM brradcrumbs module which deals with this problem. Anyway this question should be asked on VM forum.
