Hi there,

I am using bikestore 2.5 template and have an issue I need assistance with.

When you reduce the width of the window on a desktop computer, it begins to display the mobile/tablet site (i.e. the condensed menu disappears).

I don't want this to ever occur on a desktop computer - just mobile devices and tablets.

I checked dimensions in the template settings and they are default.
I restored the original mobile and tablet .css files and it didn't fix
I disabled override.css and it didn't fix it

What changes should I make to stop this happening?

If you have updated version please go to template Layout settings and disable Responsive Layout option. Then template will work always like on desktop mode.

I can't see the Responsive Layout option anywhere?

I am using Bikestore for J2.5 and believe I have the latest version (my template reports Gavern v.3.6.1 and no new versions are offered).

Where is it on the Template Settings screen???

If it's not there, do you recommend anything else?

You need to update template to latest version to have this option because this features was added in one of the Gavern Framework updates.

None of the update links work in Template Manager (they all take me to a Music Free template dl) .

What is the best and safest way to update the template?

Can it be done manually?

This is becoming quite an urgent issue for me now so I would be very grateful indeed for a quick reply.

The best way is to download latest template version from our download area, then connect via FTP and overwrite all files in template directory. Remember only to NOT overwrite the override.css file when you made changes there and create a backup before. This is 100% safe operation.

OK. I made a backup and updated AND have been able to fix the original problem. Great!

There's just one problem... my registration page has been overwritten and my layout changed back to original form.

Can you tell me which files I must replace with backup files to restore the registration page to what I had before I ran the update??

Thx

Thanks bkrztuk. I tried overwriting this again but it didn't seem to make a difference.

I want to hide the "When you are already registered, please login directly here" area but also move the password fields below name and email fields. Finally, I want to move the Register and Cancel buttons to the bottom of the screen.

Where would you recommend I do this?

Dear bkrztuk, I have no idea where this has come from and can't work out when it might have been added.

I think it happened when I updated the template but I don't know for certain :-S

What I can tell you is I use KC VM Registration redirect plugin to redirect the user's registration.

What is the best way of diagnosing where the part you listed is coming from??? It is driving me mad!

You are probably using some custom register form because default form looks different. Please look at your extensions because probably one of them cause this issue.

I think the only thing I have done is update Virtuemart 2.

Is there a way I can reinstall the registration element of Virtuemart?

You probably need to ask VM support forum because I can help you with this issue. VirtueMart is a 3rd party extension and it is beyond our support.
