bg_base.jpg background

Guys, I am using bg_base.jpg in the style1 folder as my background.

Generally I have no problems with the width of the background but I find if a particular page or article is too long the background "runs out" and I see a bg colour below.

How can I fix the bg_base.jpg so it is fixed to the bottom of the page and when it "runs out" the bg stays at the base and background image runs out at the top and shows a colour there instead?
