How to recreate modal popup?

Hi.

I've created a K2 item that I would like to display in a modal pop up just like the shopping cart and login links.

How can I do this? I tried adding modal as the class to a link but it displayed the full site not just the K2 item.

Please advise. Thx

I think you should ask on K2 support forum I don't know any easy way to load article in pop-up and surely this demands some custom code.
