I have just subscribed and I feel like somebody entering a marathon after training to do 10 press-ups.

I just can't find basic documentation for lots of stuff: for example, using the /?tp1 to find module positions in this template, I can't find how to modify the very top menu, which is presumably a module (The one that starts"CREATIVITY") Have I missed a whole chunk of introductory stuff.
I have previously only used WYSIWG templates via Artisteer but they have their limitations.
Do you understand how frustrated I feel?

For sure are templates are not this ones created with Artisteer and demands some Joomla! knowledge. The module positions you can find at our demo page (demo.gavick.com) just select tempalte and choose from top menu 'Module variations'. Available suffixes you will also find on demo page. For all other template settings you need to check the documentation - gavick.com/documentation. The main menu in Creativity is not a module it is Joomla! menu which you can manage from backend.

Thanks. At demo.gavick.com I et an error message starting:

Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server

If you can see this page, then the people who manage this server have installed cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) which use the Apache Web server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully. They now have to add content to this directory and replace this placeholder page, or else point the server at their real content.

Yes, it's fine now, but the template I'm trying, creativity, isn't listed, and, referring to my earlier enquiry about amending the menu, I can't find it in Menu Manager: is it elsewhere, please? Thanks.

well i myself am thinking like a lost guy with this template....

i so want to use it but just cannot figure the head or tail of it. for instance the:

1. the following link shows a position called MAINMENU ( http://demo.gavick.com/joomla25/creativ ... -positions )
but on searching in the menu positions... the MAINMENU position seems to be seen nowhere.

2. the USERAREA position is also not there....

pretty confused.... i am not even able to start with this template as of now.....

happened first time... what to do?

As you can see on this image with module positions, this ones are marked with different color because this are not regular Joomla! positions. This is part of code built-in template where menu or user area elements will be visible - that's all. You can choose menu from template settings and it will be visible in 'mainmenu' area but you can't publish any module there.
