Quick Start File

Hello,

Trying to install via quickstart joomla3.0 - get to stage 3 where it starts installing but just goes back to stage two - it ends up installing around 30%, but then sends me back to the page to click install again

I'm getting no errors, and is a clean database - even tried adding new database and new user but with no luck.

any ideas ?

What PHP and MySQL version do you have ?

Same problem, I'm try to install the quickstart package on my localhost with XAMPP 1.8.1:
> PHP 5.4.7
> MySQL 5.5.27

In my case, when I next on step 3, it appear a progress bar, but after the progress bar show at maybe around 50% complete, the instalation show the step 3 back.

The database show normally wroted.

MYSQL - 5.1.66
PHP - Oct 23 2012 22 :55:30

I checked this package on my XAMPP 1.8 and I have no problem to install this package. Please try turn on display_errors in php file and check if you have any errors.

Getting no errors with errors enabled - its installing then going back to the previous page

- iv just uploaded another joomla3.0 template (publisher) and that has worked fine

just can't get this gamenews template to work ?

I had installing with display_errors=on.

After the progress bar shown, the instalation redirected back to step 3.
MySQL wrritten sucessfull, all table show well.
There wasn't any error show on installation process.

Any answer ?

I have try to install on 2 different PCs and 3 of my Accounts on Different Hosting Server.

All shows same issue.

Same problem here! Curiously, installing another template (League News) is working perfectly! I would really like to see this template in action using the QuickStart file. Any way to solve the problem?

Once again I have checked this quickstart package and I didn't have any issues. I installed it. Have you set all required joomla settings correctly ?

Yes. And I can install without any problem league news quick start but not this one. =\ both on joomla 3.0. Game News is the only one I encountered problem with.

Konrad, I think this isn't PHP setting issue. I already try install the Quickstart from Publisher and StartUp template with Joomla 3 and all installed perfectly. This issue only (as I know) happened on Gamenews.

With Gamenews Quickstart, I even try install the package on 3 different hosting company and all of them show an identical issue.

Please update this quickstart.

@tariganprathama let's try do this in another way. Please install template separately, then plugins and modules needed. And give me your email I will send you sql file with database datas from quickstart and you will import it to your database.

I came up with the same issue. It gets to step 3 and does nothing. I tried installing other quickstart templates and they work fine.

I am trying the Quick start for the Gamenews. I downloaded it just now.
It fails at install step without any error and goes back to step 3.

I added it manually and now I can enable the modules. It gives errors. Can you please let me know how I can use this template.

I sent you a PM with my email address. Please check It was last night. I will do that again.I also can see what the problem is I posted the trace of the error from Firebug in the comment above.

The problem I have seen is both with packages supplied for Joomla 2.5 and 3.0. Please check the error above and fix it.

same issue here.
I am trying to install gamenews on localhost.

I am using mac. Installed xamp successfully and also installes joomla on my localhost successfully.

I downloaded the gk_gamenews_quickstart_J!30.zip package. Unzipped it and copied the folder to /xampp/htdocs/gamenews

when I type in localhost/gamenews I am prompted to go through the installation process. I follow the steps but when I go to the last page I click on Install then the database gets created but then nothing happens.

When I revisit localhost/gamenews/ I am again prompted to go through the installation process.

XAMPP for Mac OS X 1.7.3!
Apache/2.2.14 (Unix) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.14 OpenSSL/0.9.8l PHP/5.3.1 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.1
MySQL client version: 5.1.44

Any ideas?

I guess that sql file with datas is too big and you can't install it. If you would like I can send you sql file and you will import it to sql database using phpmyadmin. Just send me your email.

Just tried the quickstart 2.5 and it all worked fine. It appears that the php version is a bit old for joomla 3.0

I loop from screenshot 3 back to screenshot as in the diagram above.
Any other suggestions?

MySQL 5.1.68-cll
PHP 5.3.22

GameNews for J2.5 works fine.

well, i have the same problem and cant find a solution.
i have changed the max_allowed_packet on file my.ini (mysql config) but nothing....!

every time ....I set up everything usernames/passwords/names/setup to delete old db's.

After I click the install button it does the install animation/progress bars and then it sends me to the installation summary to install again... it's just an infinite loop.

I have done other quickstarts just fine but this one just doesn't work.


any ideas?
