Hi. I get the following 403 error when trying to log into my site.

TPL_GK_LANG_ERROR_INFO
TPL_GK_LANG_ERROR_DESC

Home Page | TPL_GK_LANG_CONTACT_WEBMASTER

It's a brand new J3.0.2 download along with the latest template version.

I've check the language file en-GB.tpl_gk_gamenews.ini is present as when searching the forum this is the common answer and it is.

This is a fresh Joomla install when no extra modules or articles.

All I've done is made a user menu in the user menu position with the menu items login, register and logout. login and register are set to guest and logout to register. If I try to use this user menu I get the error.

Funny though that if I disable this module and use the default Joomla login module in the sidebar position it works fine so it must be something to do with this menu. Strange.

Please can you help. I haven't changed any access settings accept the ones for this menu.

Many thanks.

Hi

You can fix language by overwritting this sentences in language overrides in joomla panel.

About the 403 error I believe it has something to do with permissions. Please show me Your site and send me an access to joomla panel.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply.

To see the error you need to actually try and log in to the website via the login button in the usermenu position - The sidebar login seems to work fine which is strange.

If you use the username and password I emailed it will display the error when trying to log in.

Thanks.

Hi

Ok now I can see it. Looks like the problem is a user profile view. Please as first try to remove profile view from /html/com_user this should load a default profile page from joomla. If not than try to overwrite /com_user from the clean joomla package.

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

Which profile should I remove or try to replace with one from another Joomla package as I have 5?

1. default_core.php
2. default_custom.php
3. default_params.php
4. default.php
5. edit.php

I've tried this of a further 2 fresh Joomla 3 installs and the 403 happens on all of them. Do you think you could possibly update the template so this doesn't happen and then I could just download the update?

Thanks.

Hi

I think You should update it all. This is not a template issue as shown when the same problem appears while a joomla default template is in use.

Please also rename template's /html/com_user/ to /html/_com_user/ just in case this override is in all templates and is the source of a problem.

Hi.

I've downloaded a fresh Joomla install and replaced these files as suggested but the error still appears.

I've also tried the renaming option but again this doesn't solve the problem. Sorry.

Any other ideas please? Is this a Joomla bug then and i'll report it?

Thanks for your help.

Hi

I believe it's because of some wrong configuration. Maybe a wrong link set after logging or a wrong permission to profile page. Anyway please ask on joomla forum because I cannot find a reason of such behavior. Sorry.
