How to add a blog posts page?

I'm trying to add a blog posts page (showing newest posts with excerpts, thumbnail, etc.).

I have tried adding via widgets using News Pro and allowing it to be viewed only on my "news" pag, but nothing is showing up.

I just want the standard, typical, wordpress front page to show up here.

You can use new page with Latest posts template used or add i.e. link to your category called "news"
