Using Fest with local server

Best WordPress theme for festivals or other events with responsive, clean and unique design.

Hi - I'm developing a new site using a local server program called DesktopServer. It's similar to WAMP and XAAMP. Ideally, I'd like my new site to look very similar to the Fest demo, but when I uploaded the QuickStart version of Fest, the installation failed because style.css could not be located. When I uploaded the non-quick start version, installation was successful. However, the site looks nothing like the demo (screenshot attached)

All I need to do is change the logo, color scheme, and speakers.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello,
If you want to match the demo layout and content exactly then the best option is to use the quickstart package; this is a full WordPress installation that installs WordPress, the theme, plugins, widgets and demo content to match our demo, so you can't install it on existing wordpress installation, please check these articles:

I've read those documentations. So, to confirm, wordpress can't already be installed? I need to do everything from the quickstart package. And by doing so, the lack of a style.css won't matter?

You have a error with style.css because you are trying to install the quickstart package on your wordpress dashboard - it's not possible. Please create new database and use the WordPress from the quickstart - please check the quickstart installation manual.

You don't need wordpress installed first- just use the quickstart which will install the wordpress, theme, content and configuration.
