Working in a child theme the theme style switcher doesn't work as it looks for the CSS files in the child theme's folder rather than the parent theme.

The theme option doesn't change the color at all and the theme color switcher in the footer doesn't work either.

Copying the CSS files to the css folder in the child theme fixes it but is likely not the desired functionality.

Hi,

If you're using the child themes mechanism, you should remember that some functionalites will need copying of the additional files - the style switcher is one of this kind functionalities - if you're using the child theme - it loads the CSS dynamically from the child theme directory - it cannot check if the files exists or not - that's why you should copy these files.

Any other files that function in this manner?

As I know currently only the style switcher is working like this - because only these CSS files are loaded dynamically.

With the PHP/JS files this problem shouldn't exist.
