Hi I just purchased the theme: Game News and I am VERY confused. Would someone help me create it to look like the one in the demo? Thank you very much

Please use QuickStart instead of standard template - it will recreate all configuration and content of demo site, so You can start changing it from this state.

I tried that and it keeps saying this:

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the <code>style.css</code> stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Its because QuickStart is not a theme, but completly WP installation structure. You need to previous installation and put quickstart files in it's place, then run installation of WP again. It will install all necessary data and settings.
Of course it can be only done with clean installation. It will not work well on a site that currently has data You would like to prevent.

As normal WP installation package - upload unzipped files to correct folder on your hosting company server, access it online and do whole installation.

Starting from regular template is hell a lot of the work, and I strongly advice against this solution.
Please ask any freelancer who works with webpages for help or your hosting company support, installing WP or Joomla from installation package is quite easy task.

Try to search a tutorial on the internet. Sadly we are not specialists on every hosting company solutions that are out there. Perhaps ask hosting company for help about where to put files (to which folder with use of ftp), then how to create database and how to connect a domain to a folder.

No, QuickStart can't be installed via wp-admin.
The easiest way is to completely remove old files and replace them by those from package (all of them).

Back them up forst (just in case), then remove all current joomla files (You could have copy of configuration.php for database data), then upload unpacked quickstart, then run installation providing database data (name, host, user, pass). All necessary info should be provided by your hosting company.

Sorry, WP - procedure is the same. If You have used some kind of cPanel (hosting company interface) to install WP, then You have all those files somwhere on your ftp - find them, backup then, copy wp-config.php to your desktop, as You will find there all the information about database connection (if You don't know how to check them with cPanel/other panel, or create new mysqldatabase), then to the same folder upload unzipped WP quickstart and access your site online - installation process will start, You will provide some basic informations (site name, email, database configuration), and everything should be exactly as on demo.

You need to upload all files into clean folder and connect to clean database.

You need to ask your hosting company support where to put the files. You cant just put them in any random folder.

So basically if I have a new hosting account with nothing installed on it, this is what I would install instead of Wordpress?

Yes, just unzip QuickStart package on your local machine and upload it via ftp to your hosting company server (sometimes you need to upload files not to the root, but to special folder, public_html for example - your hosting company can provide you the correct information).

The hosting account, Go Daddy, says that you need a database if you manually upload it. How would I put this theme into my hosting?
