Editor settings -text not wide enough

It's much rather a preference than a bug or error, still I wonder if you could help me.

In the editor, why is not the space fully occupied by the text? It bothers me. I prefer the text being wider, like in the second pic. Additionally, can I change the font size as default in the editor?

You can change these values in the editor-style.css at the theme root. The width of the text is probably defined in the first css rule as the max width property.
