Hi, I've been trying to recreate the news_gallery 'beautiful featured products' like on the simplicity demo. However, firstly, I can't seem to create a custom module position to use a {loadposition} in module. I've read about going through templatedetails.xml and adding there but that seems quite labourious.

But more importantly, I've tried loading it into another position (bottom3) and it's just not loading up at all. I have it set to 'portfolio', taking articles from 'joomla category' but nothing is showing up. Wherever I place it. Strange.

Any ideas? (web.ear-trumpet.net) Thanks, N

News Show Pro is not working with {loadposition} - it is working only on regular J! positions. Please try to use News Show Pro on default mode for tests. For sure module is assigned to page where you looking for module :) ?

I keep trying it in a regular position (bottom 3) but the pics are not showing up at all. I've set it up the same as demo instructions.

The title appears, but the two articles I've got in the category do not. ?? No re-sized images. Nada.

Apologies. Wasn't loading up for some reason. Seems to be up and running now. Best, N.

I'm not sure to be honest. I changed it from 'portfolio' to 'news gallery' and nothing happened. Kept trying different options. I tried again a few minutes later and they appeared.

Hmm... do you use cache ? Maybe it is related with hosting settings? What type of data source do you use for News Show Pro?

Yes after using cache it worked. Hosting settings have been triple checked. I'm using regular joomla articles.

However, the articles are not linking correctly, which is the same issue as here: (https://www.gavick.com/forums/template- ... 29574.html)

Could you please help with this issue as I cannot do any work to the site when all links redirect back to homepage (menu links, normal links, news show pro links).

The links to articles usually not work when articles displayed by News Show Pro are not link with some menu items. Please look at this documentation page http://www.gavick.com/documentation/questions/how-to-make-links-working/

Hi,

Yes I have read this article but it doesn't apply to my site. The problem was that SEF URLs were enabled and my server hasn't got mod_rewrite from the htacess.txt file installed. So all the links were not working. Once I switched SEF off it all works.

Cheers, N

Thanks for sharing your solution, mod_rewrite should be enabled only when you are 100% sure that is is working properly. When rewrite rules are not configured you can even loose access to backend :)
