Hi,
I did a manual install of gamenews template, loaded nsp gk4 for j2.5 and then realised that I was missing some features when compared to the quickstart version of gamenews (ver 3.3.1). So I downloaded the latest NSP gk4 compatible 3.0 (ver 3.3.4) and installed it directly over the j2.5 version of NSP.

problem is that the all on/off slider switches and drop down selections disappeared and I get radio buttons instead, and also the whole Thumbnail section loads briefly and then disappears.

I don't think it's a memory issue because the default is 128M on both servers and it's working fine on the server with the demo quickstart on it.

Should I just uninstall and re-install or will I lose all my existing NSP modules I've created.

Hi

Looks like the overwriting could mess it up. Please try using a normal joomla installation method to reinstall the module.

Sorry what I meant by 'manual install' was using the 'normal' joomla installation, not via ftp, or by any internal update link. Well I'll go ahead and uninstall 3.3.4 and reinstall the j2.5 version and see what happens.

No, that didn't work.

I tried uninstalling the 3.3.4 ver and replacing with 3.1.4 (j2.5) and apart from that process deleting all my NSP gk4 modules, after setting one of the modules up again I still have the exactly the same problems:
- it looks like the module is no longer able to look at corresponding js & css files because the formatting of NSP gk4 module has been stripped of sliders, drop-downs, ability to select a module position in a modal pop-up
- thumbnails have disappeared - there is nothing under that heading anymore (prob coz it requires js)

additionally, now thumbnails have disappeared and I can't get it to set the image float:left (even though this is selected).

I'd really rather not have to re-do this site just because the NSP module is broken, but it's looking that way at the moment.

Can anyone help with this please?

Can anyone assist me with this? Happy to pay. I need to know if there's a quick resolution to this, otherwise I'll just start the site over again.

Hi

I have checked Your issue and I think it is a matter of browser's cache loading files for old version You had here before, becuase I do not see a problem described. I'm attaching a screenshot of how I see it. Anyway I've updated to the proper version for this template to be sure it's not a different issue.

Thanks Piotr
Very strange as I thought it might have been my cache and so restarted computer, force-refreshed browser and it was still occurring up to a day later. So glad that this is all it was...
many thanks

Hi

Thanks for your quick reply, but I had already tried that option including with other browsers.
I tested with all versions of the module, from 3.1.1 to 3.3.4 and in all cases it is the same
I checked and I have the memory_limit 104M.

Hi

Ok. I can see it's a javasript conflict with one of the 3rd party extensions installed for administartor. I think it's this JMCache. Please try to disable it and check if NSP configuration works than.

Hi

JMCache (joomessLibrary) is a plugin of JVotesystem and I need this component to my site. I disabled JMCache but I have the same problem.

Now works NSP, but I have to solve four problems:

1- Do not show arrows in vertical scroller
2- I need to change the size of thumbnails
3- The news has to show the image K2
4- I do not want the images are stretched

You can help me to change them?

Thanks

Hi

I just need it to look like your demo, but using the image of K2, not the first image of the item and not stretched.

Thanks

Ok. Please just show me which module You have in mind and I'll send You a screen with module settings from demo site. You can also install quickstart package and take a look at this module's settings Yourself if You want.

Hi

You do not have to reinstall if You need just one or two modules to be the same. Simply install it in a different location and compare module settings.
