No articles to display (K2) - once again

First of all, I've read the other threads about the subject. Confusing and not much help there.

The problem:
1. If I select data source all k2 articles, I get the no articles to display error
2. If I manually select all K2 categories module seems to work in normal mode
3. In other modes, even manually selecting the categories does not seem to help

So, currently NSP is usable only with limited options...

I'm not willing to put non working site online. Seems to be a common problem, so it should be fairly easy to duplicate.

What do you mean by 'other modes' ? Did you try to display articles by ID's ?

I was referring to the 'Module mode' option. Normal mode works when I select manually all the categories I need, but in portal mode with same data source setting I get 'No articles to display'.

I have the same problem. With latest versions of everything (Party Freak, Joomla!, K2 and News Show Pro). When I select a K2 source is either not working at all (and the website goes blank) or it shows No articles to display error.

You try to display articles by categories or item id's ? Please try to look at server or joomla error log this will give us more details, we use K2 source type in several templates and don't notice this kind of problems.

Yes, categories of item ids, same problem.

I reinstalled it, no luck. Does it need any special permissions? The apache server has full permissions over the entire Joomla! deployment, so I believe that is not the issue here.

I am using the default Party Freak quick install package, with everything updated. I don't know what do you refer as a portal or default layout.

No, that's the problem. I use K2 instead of the integrated content system, so it's not that. If I select to use articles from Joomla!, it works. When I try from K2, the whole site is broken.

I found the solution. I don't know if it's too pretty, but there it is:

On the helper.php of the News Show Pro GK4, I've blocked the line 576

I don't use K2 Store so I guess this will not compromise something else. I would like a developer oppinion, regarding the fact that this thing cannot be disabled from the module's settings.

If you don't use K2 Store you should disable store information in News Show Pro configuration, this is why you get this problem.
