Can this be done with K2

Hi can this be done with K2.

I am wanting to have the same layout and would like to know if you can do this with k2 or if you have to use the joomla category.

If you cannot do this with k2, what is the point of k2 as you will have to put articles in k2 and joomla to get your articles read or am i wrong
