Updated theme.

Hi!

I have received an update for my Wordpress theme StoreFront.

I made some changes to the CSS.

Most changes to the CSS has been sizes or "display:none"

If I upgrade my theme, I have problems?

Unfortunately this update is not connected with your theme (it's another theme with the same name).
Please check your StoreFront -> Updates section to see if you theme is up to date and check this article about updates:

Generally, you should keep your css modifications in the override.css file (all changes in one file) and during the update you can copy this file and restore it after the update.

What do you mean by keeping all the changes in the override.css file?

I made changes to many files and can not remember what they were.

What if I do not update one theme?

Generally, you should override existing css rules in the override.css file

Regarding the updates - are strongly recommended, because sometimes the update improves security, adds additional features, fix bugs etc.

I changed the template.css files, style.css, wp.css, etc.

Means that I can not update my theme because I lose my changes?

You can update your files manually (there's a changelog with each update), so you can compare files and update only changed.
If you copy the whole StoreFront directory - yes you will lose your changes, that's the reason of keeping all of css modifications in override.css file. (or you can also use Child Theme for your modifications).

You have to compare version of your theme with the current version (Dashboard -> Storefront -> Updates)

Changelog are placed in the Updates section:

so you have to replace all listed files.

Generally if you've changed only 3 css files, maybe will be easier to add your modifications again (this time try to use override.css file).

There is a problem.

For CSS files, can not remember which lines were modified.

If I use a program to compare files, this I will put all differences.

So I could never know exactly what I should change and that should not change.

Generally, there's only o few changes in css files (more modifications are added into php files), so you can try to compare.
