The Twitter module is returning results. However, "@" and "#" items are linked appropriately. The "https://example.com" content is not hyperlinked at all.

Could you please provide me with a URL to your website, either here or via PM (click the “Private Message” text underneath my avatar) so that I may analyze it? It is a lot easier for us to diagnose issues when we have a live site to examine.
Now I see what You have in mind, but this exact part is only picked up from a tweeter itself. There is no html functionality for link in the code, so module cannot show it. You will need some extra plugin to change text into links.
